EGYPT CUSTOMS ANNOUNCEMENT TO STOP SUPPORTING BUSINESSES WITHOUT CARGOX PROFILES FROM February 2022

EGYPT CUSTOMS ANNOUNCEMENT TO STOP SUPPORTING BUSINESSES WITHOUT CARGOX PROFILES FROM February 2022

NAFEZA, Egypt's one-stop electronic customs clearance system, has announced that there are still some foreign exporters exporting to the Arab Republic of Egypt that have not completed their verification on the CargoX platform for Blockchain Document Transfer (BDT) - this does not allow them to upload nor send shipment data and documents to Egyptian importers through the CargoX / NAFEZA system.

Accordingly, CargoX is a document authenticating system using Blockchain technology. Thanks to the technology, export sumitted documents by senders to the Egyptian Customs system will be authenticed as original documents. Exporters need to register for a CargoX account and perform Verify steps to confirm the account before they can declare ACI.

In the event that the exporter lacks records on the CargoX platform, the Egyptian importer cannot carry out customs clearance procedures to release the goods even though ACID has been issued for these shipments, which makes both exporters and importers suffered heavy losses.

As a result, NAFEZA informs users that the Egyptian Customs Authority will stop issuing ACID identification numbers to shipments imported from any exporter that does not comply with the rules and regulations of the system. (ACI), effective by February 15, 2022.

GOL hopes that customers can update information as quickly as possible, and comply with the requirements of the Egyptian Customs system!
